Created as homage to the tongue-in-cheek B-movies of 1970s drive-in theaters, The Wild Man of the Navidad is not your everyday horror film. Filmmakers Justin Meeks and Duane Graves based their story on the real-life journals of Texan Dale S. Rogers, who has supposedly personally encountered the beast that has been sighted in Texas since the 1830s – the Wild Man. Zoom In’s Jim Rohner caught up with Meeks and Graves during their busy Tribeca schedule to talk with them about their creative influences, working with legendary horror producer Kim Henkel, and the restrictions and freedoms of their low-budget shoot.

Bio/Description

Eric Avery is one of the unsung heroes of the alternative rock movement in the late 80s and early 90s. As one of the two founders of Jane's Addiction, Avery along with Perry Ferrell helped define the So-Cal sound that brought light to bands like Sublime and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, bringing the era of hair metal to an end. Now, nearly 20 years removed from Jane's apex, Avery is striking out again with a self-produced solo album, Help Wanted.

In this episode of Rehearsal Space, Eric discusses the disillusion that led him to leave Jane's Addiction and how his interest in technology brought him back into the musical fold. He goes on to discuss the inspiration and production technique that went into Help Wanted.
