Logical Links of The Week: April 21st, 2008

A weekly roundup of hot topics and buzz-worthy conversation from the Logic Studio community:

Apple Pro has a great two-page article on sculpting audio for video in Soundtrack Pro 2. While brief, the article contains great tips for cleaning up audio and shaping an atmosphere to improve all your video productions.

Late last week a new patent from Apple was published by our friends over at the US Patent and Trademark Office outlining a digital audio processor to be used on-stage by an entire band. Is this the foundation for a Mainstage Mixing Console? Look out Venue.

Looking to get faster performance out of your internal hard drive? Western Digital has launched the VelociRaptor, a drive with speeds up to 10,000RPMs! That should keep your AppleLoops moving.

Former Zoom In employee and compression guru Andy Beach was at NAMM recently promoting his new book. “Encoding Video and Audio for Maximum Impact” is out now and would make a great tool for all you producers hoping to publish your Audio and Video work to the web.

And finally...

With the wave of bands turning to the web for album sales and remixing contests and what ever else have you, why not online auditions? Well Velvet Revolver is giving it a run in their hunt for a Scott Weiland replacement. Break out your microphones and launch Logic and take your crack at superstardom.
