After the glory that was the recent weather in New York (74 degrees, sun full enough to get a burn, which I did, on the light-deprived skin on my shoulders, exposed to the elements for the first time in six months), I'm feeling...how should I say it.....anxious, if you know what I mean.

So this mix is dedicated to everyone finding their perfect spring fling. I'm at the coffee shop, throwing members of the opposite sex the sassy eye. But the chicks sitting behind me talking about lactose intolerance and the irregularity of their bowel movements are really killing the mood. Do any bars in Williamsburg open before 5?

A boy-bot sounds perfect. Eliminates all the messy interpersonal crap.

I think I'm getting the picture: We Are the Pipettes is all about a one night stand. It might be the track called "One Night Stand" that tipped me off.

5. "Please Apply Yourself To Me Sweetly" - Phantom Planet

Depression. I can't find this track on iTunes nor anywhere on the internet (this might be a first). The title alone is such an excellent pick-up line, that it must stay in the mix. So use your imagination: lyrics; myspace.

6. "Do You See My Love (For You Growing)" - The Dirtbombs

This song is such a perfect double entendre, and features a relentless cowbell, to boot. Speaking of more cowbell, just want to make sure everyone has seen this video demonstrating the mind-boggling "musical" invention, Beamz, brought to you by those geniuses at Sharper Image.

7. "Look Good to Me" - Biz Markie

For the record, Biz Markie is another thing that white people like. And he likes all kinds, according to this jammie.

8. "Let's Pretend We're Bunny Rabbits" - The Magnetic Fields

Yes, let's. On a bed of fallen apple blossoms.

9. "Hello Goodbye" - El Perro del Mar

Keeping the essence of a hookup short and simple. That's our girl! (Now I'm pissed. this song is also not on iTunes. So here's a shaky video of Sarah Assbring--El Perro's real name--singing it live a couple of years ago.)

10. "Let's Get It On" - Marvin Gaye

O! How long I've waited to use this song! It so perfectly expresses the impetus behind this mix that it could be the whole mix. Marvin, times ten.
