Exclusive party for Search Engine Strategies Day 1

Earlier today I met up with Mike Moran, a former boss at IBM and speaker at Search Engine Strategies New York who spoke at the Benching An SEM Campaign session. I also covered events SES day one on Webmetricsguru.com.

After speaking with Mike and catching up on all the latest news and events for both of us, Mike said he was invited to an exclusive SES party and asked if I can come along, and I did.

The party I went to was hosted by Allan Dick, General Manager of Vintage Tub & Bath and was sponsored by several companies including www.PepperjamSearch.com, www.epiar.com and several others that involved contests to determine the greatest Search Engine using toy robot fighters directed by people (Google vs. Yahoo vs. MSN Live - Microsoft won).

The party will be covered in much more detail by www.WebProNews.com ; reporters also shot video at the party that will be posted shortly.

I think this party must have cost atleast 200,000 dollars to produce and had at least 200 people attending - all from SES.

Here's who I ran into at the party and afterwards: Vanessa Fox of Google, who remembered me from last year when I spoke to her at Webmasterworld Pubcon Boston. I also spoke quite a bit with Curtis Dueck of www.Epiar.com, Bill Hunt and his wife of Global Strategies LLC. I also saw Dana Todd but did not get a chance to speak to her.

On my way down to the party I was speaking to Mike Moran, who invited me to come along - I'm so happy he did that. Finally, I ran into Lee Odden as I was leaving the Penthouse Suite on 14th Street, where the party was held, and we spoke for about 5 minutes.

It was a long night and I wish I could stay awake a little longer
