I've been a Polaroid fan since the first time I saw one of those blank frames pop out of a camera and an image slowly come out on its glossy surface. The colors were always a bit off, but in a really cool sort of way. A couple of years ago, I actually bought my very first Polaroid camera, and within a few months I'd built up a nice stack of snapshots. Instant gratification met point and shoot fun. Well, those days are soon gone, as Polaroid will be shutting down its production of instant film. Another victim of the digital revolution, I suppose, but this is one that I am sad to see go.
But all hope is not lost. Polaroid film will still be available for a while, so there is enough time to stockpile. And even if you're like me, and you probably never get around to doing that, FujiFilm still makes instant film. Though I can only imagine that there will be a price increase on the instant film market in the not too distant future.
