Here’s a shot of a couple of the happiest Microsoft employees in the world showing off a bunch of cool new apps on the Surface platform. Static photos (especially this one taken on my Blackberry!) cannot do justice to just how slick this thing looks in person. It’s an object of instant desire, no question. Surface is like the computer equivalent of Sauron’s ring – you just need to have it for yourself, and damn everyone else in your way.

Speaking of which – why on earth is there not one of these at the Microsoft Technology Center in New York? If anyone from the Surface team is listening, I’d like to hear your answer.
