A weekly roundup of buzzworthy tips, tricks, and topics from the Final Cut Studio community:
- If you work in a media-related field, it's likely that you've been spending the past few days relaxing after the whirlwind we like to call NAB. It's also likely that you are flashing back to the debut of the Red Scarlet 3K HD Pocket Camera. With a price point of less than $3000, Red Scarlet will be an interesting topic for the next 12 months. Writer, Producer, and Creator of French Maid TV, Tim Street, discusses his experience at the debut here . Also check out Zoom-In's exclusive video of Red's Ted Schilowitz as he talks about their new product offerings.
- And if you want to see some top-rate swooning over the RED camera, get a load of this. Photographer Scott Regan has footage shot for a Shatterglass Studios production.
- Tremor Media just announced the launch of a new Video Monetization Platform called Acudeo. It allows publishers to use their own ad server to schedule and deliver in-stream video and overlay ads from multiple ad sources. Check out a demo here.
- Lastly, Yahoo! discusses how Pure Digital Technologies' point-and-shoot camcorder, Flip, has dominated the sales charts at Amazon since its debut last year. As a result, it seems Pure Digital is trying to rake it in by filing for an initial public offering early next year. Though Flip Video has attracted competitors to the new market, among them Sony and Audiovox, Pure Digital has plans to improve their already unique software by going smaller, adding battery life, and easier sharing features. We'll keep you posted on how it plays out.
