Cutting Room: Week of Apr. 7th, 2008

A weekly roundup of buzzworthy tips, tricks, and topics from the Final Cut Studio community:

- Everyone and their mother has a video on YouTube. Whether or not anyone actually watches it is a different story. To help everyone become a video star, YouTube has launched a free tool called Insight that allows users to view detailed statistics about their uploaded vids. Users can track how often their video is viewed in certain geographic regions and how popular their video is in comparison to others. These metrics can ultimately help users increase their view counts -- and their internet fame.

- To get your videos looking their best, check out Videomaker, which has compiled a list of great resources for advice on video lighting techniques. Take a look or risk being left in the dark.

- Stand apart from the rest with After Effects. Certified Apple Trainer Jem Schofield teaches a free online seminar on Motion for After Effects Users. Register to learn about the Motion interface, Particle Emitters and Parameter Behaviors, and importing native Motion projects directly into Adobe After Effects compositions.

- Free up space in your finished project with Broadcast Newsroom's comprehensive instruction. Give it a glance so you can prepare yourself for when the client inevitably says, "Wait, there's one thing I'd like to change...".
