This week on Beet.TV, Magnify.net CEO Steve Rosenbaum discusses the company's new video plug-in for Movable Type and WordPress, Magnify Publisher.
Magnify Publisher calls itself an "application gateway," providing a one-page, multi-site search for video content, and an easy embed function.
But I'm more excited about what it means than what it does. Its a development that grew from thinking about the process of blogging, not the product. The Magnify team analyzed the act of composing a blog post and developed their tool as a way to help writers avoid redundant searches.
There's great value in researching blog content creation from the writer's standpoint. How many tabs are people opening while researching for and writing a post? Do they wish they didn't have to, or are they happy working that way? Paying attention to such "external" aspects of the process and addressing those needs has the potential to reinvent blogging.
