The American Design Club

I recently jumped into the design community head first, and was welcomed with genuine enthusiasm. Other design bloggers are just as excited about sharing their ideas as their audience is about taking their advice - and it doesn't end there. When I reached out to some bloggers in the hopes of interviewing them about design and their respective websites, I found that the design blogging community is not only extremely well-informed, but also super supportive of fellow designers. In fact, there is an entire club dedicated to bringing designers together to strenghten the designer-designer bond, as well as create exhibition and sales opportunities: The American Design Club (AmDC).

The founding members include: Simon Arizpe, Charles Brill, Henry Julier, Annie Lenon, Kiel Mead, Theo Richardson and Alexander Williams - all designers, really, really good ones.

The notion that a club was started to form a support group of sorts for designers brings a giant smile to my face - in fact, it inspires me to start a Blog Carnival about the AmDC. Keep an eye out!
