Cutting Room: Week of June 30th, 2008

A weekly roundup of buzzworthy tips, tricks, and topics from the Final Cut Studio community:

- If you're in the UK this week (perhaps getting over Amy Winehouse's lastest bout of ridiculousness) then be sure to head over to the Design Council in London's Covent Garden. Square Group -an Apple Premium Reseller- will be hosting a free event on July 3rd dedicated to Apple's Professional Creative Applications (Logic Studio, Aperture 2 and Final Cut Studio 2). If free instruction and refreshments aren't enough, then go for the simple knowledge that techies don't throw punches. You'll be safe here.

- JVC launches three new AVCHD camcorder models!

- The Sundance Channel features Live From Abbey Road -a 12 part one hour performance series/documentary filmed during 2006 at Abbey Road Studios in London. Macworld discusses how Mac computers were integral to the successful development of the series, which included a total of 38 acts (three per show) filmed in HD in front of a live audience. Musicians as diverse as Damien Rice, Jamiroquai and Gnarls Barkley were included.

- And as part of Apple's Mac Pro Profile Series you can learn more about video, projection and installation designer Tal Yarden as he discusses the reasons why Mac applications have played a key role in enabling him to create innovative work.
