I had a chance to interview Sean Alexander at NAB just a day or two after the surprise announcement of Redmond's new media player, set to take over where Windows Media Player left off... and a whole lot more.

I received one of the most amusing and yet somehow unsettling emails of my life last night... after I cackled out loud for 10 minutes and then read it out-loud to my wife, I thought, "I have to blog this email..." Oh, by the way, so that you're not confused reading this, my middle initial is "M."

I came home from dinner Monday night to find this email with the subject line, as above, reading "We Are Todd Howard - Resistance Is Futile" in my in box:

Well, it happened! My blog post linking to Rick Young's walk-through of creating Hi-Def DVD-5s has made it onto the front page of the technology section on Digg.com and the influx of new visitors is mounting. It's #6 in the technology top ten now. Cool! Thanks diggers!

I've been building web sites since mid 1996, and little web-based dev tools have come and gone. This site is one of the most well implemented and well conceived tools with a specific focus that I have ever come across. Check it out!

It's so easy to make mistakes as a media company. So many of them are run by ludites who have a real passion for quality content...and, sadly, that's simply not enough today.

Succeeding in tomorrow's media world is as much about creating quality content that appeals to your constituency as it is about having a really forward-thinking distribution strategy.
