The New "It" Concert Venue?

A new outdoor venue has arisen in New York City, located on the unsuspecting shores of Governor's Island -- home of Prince Harry's recent polo match. Only 800 yards away from Lower Manhattan and essentially Brooklyn Adjacent, the Beach on Governor's Island will be accessible via water taxi.
The Beach will host Governor Island's second annual concert series, featuring the B-52s and Erykah Badu. It should also be noted that as of right now, "The Beach At Governor's Island" is a mere parking lot-- the sand is slated to be brought in around July 4th. Sand + Parking Lot = Concert Venue? Well, we are in a recession...
