
Ever since MTV decided to recast itself as an overarching youth culture brand at the end of the 20th century, a lot of music video fans have been asking themselves:
What's going to happen to music videos?
Even though they existed long before MTV came into being in the '80s, there's no debating that the cable channel gave music videos mainstream relevance. By the mid-'90s, major labels made music videos a significant aspect of their marketing campaigns, and artists like P. Diddy and Mariah Carey got to spend outrageous sums on videos for their latest singles.
But with MTV showing fewer videos every year, and record label budgets shrinking by the month, directors and fans alike continue to worry about the medium's future, and what effect things like the Internet will have on their form, style and content.
With 2009 drawing to a close, we have one answer: there can (and will) be a lot more nudity. Examples below!
