CNN used the occasion of President Obama's particularly historic inauguration to test their photo experiment "The Moment." Despite the fact that Obama officially became president at noon yesterday (even before the actual swearing in, the transfer of power is official at 12 o'clock PM), CNN asked those who traveled to the National Mall to send in their photos of the moment Barack Obama was sworn in as president. I like the idea as a kind of photographic symbolism as Americans coming together again and feeling more united as a country. The project produced some interesting results, and it's awesome to read about how this Photosynth technology works.
The New York Times, not to be outdone, compiled reader-submitted photos from across the country of people's reactions to Obama officially becoming the prez. And this site compiled seeminly all the world's front pages from inauguration day. This screenshot shows only about five percent of the total images!

These projects speak to the almost unimaginable reach of yesterday's events, and the countless lives one man's administration will impact. It's good to read that he's already diving right in.
