There are tons of great Twitter-related articles and apps out there to learn about connecting with people in your professional community. One great way to quickly find people who are talking about a particular topic of interest is to use the Twitter search function. I typed in "photojournalism" to get the latest on new projects and people I hadn't yet heard of within the community.

The search function automatically tells you of new tweets being twout in real time while you're searching. Cool! Take it a step further — find a tweet you like, go to that person's Twitter page, and see who they deem worthy of following. It's an endless trail of great information.
