Euphonix Tutorial: Editing Drums with Vincent di Pasquale and the Euphonix Artist Series

One of the most impressive items that has come to light in 2008 has to be the Artist Series controllers from Euphonix. The MC Mix and MC Control made a huge splash at NAMM and rode high on that wave all year long, showing no signs of slowing down. Just within the past month announcements have come out regarding more manufacturers integrating the controller's EuCon protocol for communication into their products. Some of the most notable among these are MOTU who has integrated support into the new Digital Performer 6 and just days ago, audio interface juggernaut Metric Halo got on board as well with the newest upgrades to their flagship Mobile I/O interfaces.

The products were also partnered with a relaunch of the Euphonix website and a push toward a more open and inviting web community for audio engineers and Euphonix product users of all levels. As part of that push, Euphonix tapped some of the high profile engineers and producers that regularly use their products and produced a great looking and informative series of tutorial videos for working with Euphonix Artist Series products and various software.

ZIO Pro is happy to say that we are now able to bring these tutorials to our audience as well in series of tutorial blogs that will run here on Zoom In Online.

The first series of videos features multi-platinum music producer and remixer, Vincent di Pasquale. These five videos cover basic functions of the MC Mix and Control ranging from basic programming and set up to more complicated integration like side-chain all using Apple's flagship DAW, Logic Pro 8.

Each video profiles a useful tip for utilizing the Euphonix controllers, but also shares a snapshot into the techniques and a few special secrets used by this award winning producer. So even if you aren't an owner of an MC Mix or MC Control, these videos still outline great tricks inside Logic that are useful to all users.
