Cutting Room: Week of June 9th, 2008

A weekly roundup of buzzworthy tips, tricks, and topics from the Final Cut Studio community:

- Apple's been dabbling in the Ellen Page craze, albeit just by talking about the post-production of one of her recently released projects, The Tracey Fragments, in a Final Cut Studio 2 profile. The film, adapted from the novel by its author Maureen Medved and directed by Bruce McDonald (Roadkill, Highway 61, Hard Core Logo), tells the coming-of-age story of a 15-year old girl on a journey to find her missing brother. In the profile, McDonald explains why Final Cut was integral to the successful creation of a multi-fragmented screen throughout the film as a means to conveying the fractured interior of Page's character. He comments, "Whatever we thought to do with Final Cut Pro, we could do".
