Final Cut Pro User Groups Around The World: Santa Barbara
This recurring series looks at the communities that have sprung up to support Final Cut users. Big and small, near and far, users groups are a thriving part of the creative ecosystem.

- When did this user group start? SBFinalCut - The Santa Barbara Final Cut User Group started officially on April 20th, 2003.
- Who runs the group? Final Cut Pro Master Trainer - Jeffery Morse.
- How many members do you have? 81 current members.
- How often do you meet? SBFinalCut meets regularly in spirit but only infrequently in person.
- Where do you meet? Our next scheduled meeting place is taking place at Home Planet Post on State Street in Santa Barbara.
- Favorite moment in the group’s history? The favorite moment from SBFinalCut’s group history would be walking onto stage at the FCPUG SuperMeet and representing Santa Barbara.
- What percentage of members consider media creation their primary occupation? We have a very diverse group. I would estimate that roughly 25% of members consider media creation their primary occupation. The rest are serious amateurs, educators or hobbyists.
- What makes you different from other user groups? SBFinalCut is different from other user groups because we have regular meetings down at the beach.
- Do you have any other info or fun anecdotes you want to tell us? SBFinalCut is happy to be alive and well and serving the fine Final Cut users of California’s Central Coast.

I came across your group doing a Google search. My company is looking to get more involved with the Final Cut Pro user groups. Our products are designed for high-end video and audio use, and that is the market currently using our products.
Could you send me any info you may have on becoming a sponsor for things like: your site, events, etc.
Let me know. I appreciate it.
