A weekly roundup of hot topics and buzz-worthy conversation from the Logic Studio community:
First off…
If you are in the NYC area, mark your calendars for next Tuesday, July 8th. The Manhattan Guitar Center on 14th street will be giving a free seminar on Logic Studio and it potential uses as a live performance tool. Co-Sponsored by Apogee and Euphonix, this seminar will introduce you to all the applications in the Logic Studio Bundle and illustrate how Mainstage is set to change live performance forever. All the details you need are available here.

Audio plug-in makers apulSoft have released apTrigga 2.3.3 for Mac. This audio sample trigger plug-in works seamlessly in Logic Studio and allows you to trigger mono or stereo samples from recorded audio. This is a quick and easy tool for adding samples to recorded drums, or replacing the drums all together if you choose. It also offers drag-and-drop support for all aiff, wav, and sd2 samples. Details and downloads available here.

IK Multimedia and Muse Research have teamed up to release the Total Workstation Rack. This dual function hardware unit functions on stage as a conventional hardware synth, but take it into the studio and it loads into Logic as a software plug-in providing you access to SampleTank 2.5, Sonik Synth 2, Miroslav Philharmonik, SampleMoog, SampleTron and more than 10,000 samples all housed and driven by the rack unit and not your CPU.

Last month, Waves announced that they would make available for free download; presets for their most used plug-ins that were designed by producer/mixer mastermind Jack Joseph Puig. Well last week they took it a step further and released customized plug-ins modeled after some of Puig’s amazing vintage gear collection. Puig allowed Waves techs to analyze his vintage Fairchild 670, Pultec EQP-1A and MEQ-5 and they have released plug-ins allowing those of us on a budget access (sort of) to these pieces of audio engineering history.
And finally...
