Guest host Andy Beach interviewed Joe Rubin, producer, curator and host of Frontline/World's iWitness, their new series which airs on the web. He shows how new technologies are used to connect people from around globe and help them report events often missed by mainstream media, including a reporter from the virtual world Second Life. He also explains the basic premise of the series, how technology is used for its realization, and the ultimate impact it has made.

At FITC Toronto 2008 Zachary Lieberman presented his installation on the visualization of voice using creative coding in c++. Zachary creates interactive installations and performances that stimulate the imagination of artists and children alike, showing how the voice can be shaped in different visual manifestations and how live painted forms can be animated. He goes on to demonstrate how disabled students in England expressed themselves by interacting with his program.
