Zoom-In Online is proud to present Meet the Artists, a production of the Sundance Institute, featuring conversations with some of the filmmakers showcasing their work at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. In this segment, the Oscar-winning filmmaker Edet Belzberg discusses her latest work, An American Soldier. By following one of the nation's top army recruiters, Sergeant Clay Usie, and three of his recruits as they finish up high school and go through basic training, Belzberg squashes preconceived notions about army recruitment by depicting the friendship and fraternity that develops between Usie and the young men he recruits.
