U2 may be one of the biggest bands of all time. Their prolific recording history, tireless passion at live shows and humanitarian efforts have cemented their place in rock history and the public spotlight. U2 3D is yet another pioneering effort they’re involved with. Shot over the course of five different South American shows during their 2006 Vertigo tour, U2 3D is the first movie shot, produced, and distributed entirely in digital 3D allowing any theatergoer to experience the look and sound of being at an actual live performance. At the 2008 Sundance Film Festival Zoom In Online’s Megan Cunningham talked to co-director Catherine Owens about her past as an experimental artist and the future of 3D technology.
