Zoom In Online’s Keith Uhlich caught up with Ira Sachs at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival for a conversation about his latest film, Married Life. The film, a follow up to Ira’s 2005 Sundance Grand Jury Prize winning Forty Shades of Blue, is Sachs most anticipated work; a psychological black comedy based on John Bingham’s novel, Five Roundabouts to Heaven. Keith and Ira discuss the challenges of adapting a novel for film, the importance he places on the casting process and our societies need for cinema that makes us feel less alone.
