On the Circuit: Ira Sachs (Married Life)

Zoom In Online is proud to present On the Circuit, a joint production with The House Next Door. On the Circuit features conversations with leading directors, cinematographers, editors and actors from the front lines of the film festival season. Zoom In Online’s Keith Uhlich caught up with Ira Sachs at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival for a conversation about his latest film, Married Life. The film, a follow up to Ira’s 2005 Sundance Grand Jury Prize winning Forty Shades of Blue, is Sachs most anticipated work; a psychological black comedy based on John Bingham’s novel, Five Roundabouts to Heaven. Keith and Ira discuss the challenges of adapting a novel for film, the importance he places on the casting process and our societies need for cinema that makes us feel less alone.

Host: Keith Uhlich
