On the Circuit: Jim Mickle and Nick Damici (Mulberry Street)

Zoom In Online is proud to present On the Circuit, a podcast that features conversations with leading filmmakers and actors from the front lines of film and broadcast. In this episode of On the Circuit, Zoom In Online’s Jim Rohner sits down to talk with Jim Mickle and Nick Damici, the director, co-writers, and star of Mulberry Street, a low budget horror film playing around the country in this year’s After Dark Horrorfest. Set in New York City, the film focuses on a small group of tenets in a Brooklyn apartment building that try to survive the night when an infection carried by rats turns the city’s population into flesh eating beasts. Jim and Nick discuss the long road to production, the improvisations and limitations of shooting a digital format, the implications of a horror film based in a post-9/11 New York City, and much more. Check out Mulberry Street and the other entries in this year’s Horrorfest in cities all across the country this weekend, November 16-18.
