On the Circuit: Justin Meeks and Duane Graves (The Wild Man of the Navidad)

Created as homage to the tongue-in-cheek B-movies of 1970s drive-in theaters, The Wild Man of the Navidad is not your everyday horror film. Filmmakers Justin Meeks and Duane Graves based their story on the real-life journals of Texan Dale S. Rogers, who has supposedly personally encountered the beast that has been sighted in Texas since the 1830s – the Wild Man. Zoom In’s Jim Rohner caught up with Meeks and Graves during their busy Tribeca schedule to talk with them about their creative influences, working with legendary horror producer Kim Henkel, and the restrictions and freedoms of their low-budget shoot.
