Editor's Note: Each day this week Viewfinders will introduce a new photojournalist. Log on everyday to hear their stories from the 2008 campaign trail, and see them compete against each other on Friday's Viewfinder Photojournalism Challenge episode.
When French photojournalist Gerald Holubowicz set out to pursue his dream of covering an American presidential election, he was drawn to the experience on both an intellectual and emotional level. Documenting the spirit behind the candidates’ supporters was key to Holubowicz; along the way he was struck by distinct differences between French and American politics. See his photographs from election night in Harlem, and watch as he prepares to photograph Obama’s inauguration.
