On the Circuit: Darren Lynn Bousman (Repo! The Genetic Opera)
Darren Lynn Bousman will admit that his latest film, Repo! The Genetic Opera, is a niche film – a horror rock opera set in the year 2056 featuring the likes of Paris Hilton, Paul Sorvino, and Sarah Brightman. Described as sushi for a meat and potatoes audience, Repo! is a passion project for Bousman; one to which he’s devoted eight years of his life. Vibrant yet dark, inspiring yet macabre, Bousman’s latest film treads ground little walked in recent cinema, but which boasts iconic films like The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Tommy. Zoom In’s Jim Rohner recently spoke to Darren Lynn Bousman about his unique cinematic project, of which he hopes the meat and potatoes crowd will take a bite.
