On the Circuit: Brian De Palma (Redacted)

On the Circuit features conversations with leading filmmakers and actors from the front lines of film and broadcast. In this episode of On the Circuit, Zoom In Online's Keith Uhlich discusses the career of highly-stylized filmmaker, Brian De Palma (Carrie, Scarface, The Untouchables) and his most recent controversial work, Redacted. The film spares little violence in depicting a fictionalized story about the real-life rape and killing of a young Iraqi girl by U.S. soldiers. Incorporating interview material from the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival, as well as the 45th New York Film Festival, Keith debates whether or not De Palma's alleged intent to shock his audience out of preconceived ways of viewing is effectively reached through the development of this film.
