You may have heard of Georgiana the Duchess of Devonshire before. In Britain in the late 1700s, Georgiana made an indelible mark on the country and in history with her grandiose fashion sense, her love affair with a man of lower social standing, and her outspoken views on politics before women’s rights were even a daydream. You may have never heard of Saul Dibb. Despite having years of experience with documentaries, you won’t find much information on the British filmmaker while searching IMDB.com. Nevertheless, he was more than capable of directing Kiera Knightely and Ralph Fiennes in The Duchess. Zoom In Online’s Jim Rohner talked with Saul about his experience making this expensive period piece – something, he admits, he had never dreamed of doing before.
