Description

If there was one thing Patrick Creadon learned from making Wordplay, it was that a good documentary could be made from seemingly mundane source material. In I.O.U.S.A. Creadon tackles the issue of America’s national debt and how we as a country are poised for a financial meltdown—hardly a sexy or stimulating topic to devote 85 minutes to. However, Creadon injects the film with passionate and engaging interviews to enlighten viewers on a topic that, though far from exciting, is arguably more important than any other American documentary to have debuted at Sundance.

At the 2008 Sundance Film Festival Zoom In Online’s Megan Cunningham sat down with Creadon, Executive Producer Addison Wiggin, U.S. Comptroller General David Walker, and Robert Bixby from the Concord Coalition to discuss how they approached making the film and the implications it holds for our nation’s future.
