 <title>MGM Flicks to Play in Entirety on YouTube</title>
 <link>http://www.zoom-in.com/blog/2008/11/mgm-flicks-play-entirety-youtube</link>
 <description>As a child, I was promised many things about the future.  Flying cars, communities on the moon, and talking robot servants were all flights on fancy that my young adult eyes have yet to see come to fruition.  For those of you more grounded in reality who may have dreamt that the future will hold free movies and TV shows played in their entirety online, then MGM and YouTube are making your dreams come true.  Variety reports that &amp;quot;[the] venerable studio, eager to monetize its library however possible, will allow YouTube to stream certain MGM pics and TV skeins in their entirety in exchange for ad coin.&amp;quot;

 <title>New-Media the Stumbling Block in AFTRA Negotiations</title>
 <link>http://www.zoom-in.com/blog/2008/05/new_media_the_stumbling_block_in_aftra_negotiations</link>
 <description>We love the internet, don&amp;#039;t we? We love our YouTubes and our iTunes and iPods and our internet capable phones and being able to watch clips of our favorite celebrities online anytime we want. AFTRA loves it too. And so does AMPTP. And therein lies the problem. The Hollywood Reporter says that the use of new-media clips and the participation of AFTRA members in new-media productions are among the issues holding up the latest round of negotiations between the two groups.

 <title>Regal to Double Amount of Imax Theaters by 2010</title>
 <link>http://www.zoom-in.com/blog/2008/03/regal_to_double_amount_of_imax_theaters_by_2010</link>
 <description>Everybody loves Imax movies. Unless you&amp;#039;re sitting in the front row for one. Whether you&amp;#039;re scoping out a 3D simulation of what it was like when dinosaurs ruled the earth or seeing your dreams come to fruition with The Dark Knight, everybody loves Imax movies. Seeing how films are setting record box office numbers for Imax releases (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) and how more film sequences are being shot in 70mm Imax format (previously mentioned Dark Knight), Regal Cinemas, owned by Regal Entertainment, has announced a deal with Imax to build 31 more Imax theaters by 2010.

 <title>What&#039;s this WE7 Music Download Model All About, Anyway?</title>
 <link>http://www.zoom-in.com/blog/2007/05/whats_this_we7_music_download_model_all_about_anyway</link>
 <description>I&amp;#039;ve been hearing people mention WE7 a lot lately, the new ad/message supported, free, legal, DRM-free music download service. PR: &amp;quot;Rock legend Peter Gabriel has teamed up with technology entrepreneur Steve Purdham and financial authority John Taysom to bring advertisers a new ad delivery mechanism. The platform, We7, uses free music downloads as a vehicle to communicate personalised advertising messages, allowing brands to intimately connect with consumers on- and offline.&amp;quot;

 <title>New Music Video Search Engine for YouTube: Middio</title>
 <link>http://www.zoom-in.com/blog/2007/04/new_music_video_search_engine_for_youtube_middio</link>
 <description>Recently, techcrunch reviews a specialized search engine called Middio that focuses on music videos. It indexes the videos uploaded from YouTube (the music videos and only the music videos) and displays search results for your favorite recording artist. While it&amp;#039;s still in BETA, the reviewers claim it works pretty fast.

 <title>HBO Launches Final Season of Sopranos using VOD, Internet video</title>
 <link>http://www.zoom-in.com/blog/2007/03/hbo_launches_final_season_of_sopranos_using_vod_internet_video</link>
 <description>
David Kaplan at PaidContent.org put together a nice summary of how HBO is leveraging cable partners (including both Comcast and Cox in addition to Time Warner Cable, its sister company). The strategy includes everything from broadband trivia, to free VOD offering short form original films as well as other internet video strategies.

 <title>DIY Filmmaking, Is Content King? - (continued)</title>
 <link>http://www.zoom-in.com/blog/2007/03/diy_filmmaking_is_content_king_continued</link>
 <description>For creative people, there&amp;#039;s often an ongoing tension between how much effort one should devote to creating great content by telling original stories, and how much effort one should put towards marketing/promotion of your creative project...in effect, &amp;quot;pitching&amp;quot; the story to the industry.
