Apple Pushes Updates to all iLife'08 and iWork'08 Apps

If you use any of the new iLife apps or iWork apps and don't have your Software Update panel set to check every few days, you might want to go run it manually. (In your System Preferences --> Software Update). Keynote, Pages, Numbers, iDVD, GarageBand, iPhoto, iWeb and a general iLife Support update are all out this week, and are recommended by Apple.

First Time Using The MarsEdit Blog Authoring App

Fellow ZIO'er Andy Beach turned me on to trying MarsEdit, a great piece of software from Red Sweater, for creating and managing blog posts. Until today, I have been using BBEdit, which is quite simply one of the best pieces of software ever written for the Mac. It's a text editor, designed for programmers, and usually I use it to write and edit HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript, etc., in my capacity as a web developer. For blogging, I would copy and paste my blog post code into our online blog editing system (which end up being 95% regular text with a few HTML elements like images, and links and Bold tags and stuff like that), and that's been working fine for me for 4 months. We had been having some issues getting MarsEdit to connect with the blogging system on my end, so I haven't been able to use it until our site redesign. Which, by the way, I hope all of you dig as much as we do - our design and development team did a marvelous job. ((Applause!)) I'll look at my first time trying to create a link, and inserting an image, and saving my post, after the jump!

Steve Martin (a lead instructor for Apple's Certified Training program, not the wild and crazy comedian) has put together his new Final Cut Pro 6 run down/review for the Ken Stone site, and it just went up a day or two ago. You've got to check this out if you are going to be using FCP6 and want a running start.

Parallels Desktop 3.0 Announced - Win/PC Games On Your Mac?

Parallels Inc. (an SW Soft Company), just announced last week that they have been building and testing a major update to their virtualization solution for the Mac, which enables Mac users to run Windows simultaneously with Mac OS X on any Intel-based iMac, Mac Mini, MacBook, MacBook Pro, and Mac Pro Towers. The release itself should be announced shortly, possibly in time for WWDC?

Version 3.0 promises over 50 new features, including
